01 / Photosynthesis
Plants capture light using pigments such as chlorophyll in chloroplasts. With that energy, carbon dioxide and water become carbohydrates; oxygen is released. Remember the difference between a raw material, a product and an energy source.

Diffusion gives a net movement down a concentration gradient. Osmosis involves water moving across a selectively permeable membrane. Facilitated diffusion uses proteins to help substances cross, but it is still passive transport.
